Minggu ini kami mendapat kesempatan untuk mengikuti Uber Gathering di Caturra Espresso Kafe. Berikut beberapa hal menarik yang dibahas di sana, ternyata selain layanan ride sharing Uber X ada juga beberapa fitur menarik dan event.

This week we got an interesting event invite from Uber, which held a Gathering in Caturra Cafe.

There are some interesting stuffs I'd like to share my reader about this ride sharing apps, which are about new events and features.

Eventnya diadakan di Caturra yang ada di Jalan Anjasmoro. Lokasinya ada di seberang bu Rudy, dan dalam kompleks ruko. Berhubung jarang ke daerah sini saya perlu 2x berputar sebelum akhirnya menemukan tempatnya dengan bantuan Waze.

The event were held in Caturra, which is located in Anjasmoro street. It's in front of Bu Rudy's diner, inside a home-office complex. Since I rarely visit this area, I needed to circle around the blocks a few time before finally arriving at the place, thanks to the directions on Waze.

Sebelumnya saya sudah cukup pernah memakai layanan Uber, tapi hanya pernah di luar negeri, Kuala Lumpur. Berhubung di kota satu ini taxinya termasuk salah satu yang terparah reputasinya di dunia.

I've recently used Uber apps for my last travel in Kuala Lumpur. This city was notorious for it's bad Taxi services, so I didn't take a chance and decided to use this apps instead of calling regular taxis.

Ada beberapa jenis layanan Uber yang bisa dipakai, Uber X yang paling dasar dan murah, Uber XL yang biasanya MPV dan Uber Black yang termasuk layanan mobil mewah

Uber Black ini bisa berbeda untuk tiap kota, di Surabaya saat ini masih belum ada.

Di Jakarta Kijang Innova masuk kelas Uber Black karena CC nya di atas 2000

Pengalaman saya di Kuala Lumpur 1x mencoba Uber Black mendapat mobil yang lumayan nyaman dan mewah, Audi A6.

There are some services of Uber you can choose from. Uber X is the basic one, Uber XL is a ride with bigger MPV, and the creme de la creme, Uber Black, which is a ride in a luxury car.

Uber Black is only available in select cities, and currently still unavailable in Surabaya.

In Jakarta, what complies as an Uber Black is a mid level MPV, Kijang Innova. Not a luxury sedan like the one I rode in KL, Audi A6.

Mobil terbaik yang saya dapat selama mencoba layanan Uber adalah Audi A6 (Uber Black) seperti yang di atas ini, sedangkan yang paling minimal, pernah dapat Uber Myvi.

Audi A6 ini harganya termasuk jauh di atas Innova, harga di Malaysia sekitar MYR 325.000 atau sekitar Rp 1 Milyard.

The best care I got to try were the Audi A6, while the least flashy one is Uber Myvi.

Audi A6 is quite the luxury car, a much more expensive car than the one we got as Uber Black in Jakarta, which sometime can be Kijang Innova which is mid level MPV.

Audi A6 costs about $80.000 in Malaysia, while the Innova is about $30.000 in Indonesia.

Uber Gathering at Caturra Espresso - Surabaya

Beda harga antara Uber X dan Uber Black sekitar 1.5 - 2x. Biasanya untuk rute di mana saya habis 44RM dengan Uber Black, dengan Uber X cukup 20RM.
Walaupun demikian, sebetulnya alternatif Uber Black cukup menarik, terutama saat jam sibuk, di mana tarif Uber X dengan sendirinya kadang naik 1.2 - 1.6x dari tarif reguler.

The price difference between Uber X and Uber Black is about 1.5 - 2x. For the same route which I paid my Uber Black ride RM44, I usually spend RM20 using Uber X.

This Uber Black ride is worth it for me, especially during rush hour where Uber X would get 1.2-1.6x price hike.

Caturra Espresso Surabaya - French Fries

Cappuccino (Rp 32.000) - Caturra Espresso Surabaya

Sesuai dengan jenis tempatnya yang kafe, di sini kopinya lumayan enak, walau porsinya cukup imut. Secangkir kecil ini harganya Rp 32.000, walau tidak terlalu besar, tapi dari segi kualitas cukup baik, aroma dan kemantapan kopinya terasa.

Their coffee is pretty decent as far as cafe goes. Though it's a tad smaller than what I'd like, the taste is quite robust.

A small cup like this would set you back Rp 32.000.

Oxtounge Aromatic Rice (Rp 59.000) - Caturra Espresso Surabaya

Chicken Aglio Olio (Rp 50.000) - Caturra Espresso Surabaya

Makanan yang disajikan di kafe ini cukup beragam, untuk rasa termasuk standard kafe. Tatanannya cantik, tapi dari segi rasa cenderung biasa. Yang menarik adalah penggunaan resep fusion, seperti lidah dimasak dengan nasi goreng.

The dishes were also typical cafe foods. The plating is quite nice but taste-wise it's run of the mill dishes. What interesting here is the fusion recipes, for example the aromatic ox tongue rice dish, which is an interesting take on fried rice.

Salah satu menunya ada yang memakai babi, jadi bisa hindari menu ini untuk yang dietnya halal

To my surprise, one their menu has pork, so if you're on a halal diet, be sure to ask around before ordering.

Uber Ice Cream

Bulan Juli 2016 sempat ada event Uber Ice Cream, dimana pengguna bisa mendapatkan ice cream Walls Magnum dengan biaya antar hanya Rp 5.000

Seru juga bisa mendapatkan ice cream dengan biaya murah dan diantar langsung, kemungkinan besar Uber bakal ada layanan antar makanan seperti Go Food tampaknya.
Kalau boleh usul, selain produk terkenal, bisa juga menggandeng partner ice cream parlor lokal yang cukup banyak di Surabaya, seperti varian Zangrandi (Mon cherri & Jasmine), Eskimo, dan banyak gelato maker yang bertaburan di cafe-cafe Surabaya.

Last July there's an interesting event called Uber Ice Cream.

Here you need to pay a very low delivery fee of Rp 5.000 and you'd get Walls Magnum Ice Cream.

It's quite interesting for a promotion, this is probably a warm up before they launch a food delivery service, similar to Go Food by Gojek.

It would be quite exciting if Uber in the future would partner with local ice cream parlors, a few notable ones are Zangrandi (Mon Cherri and Jasmine), Eskimo ice cream and plenty of Gelatos in Surabaya cafes.
