KL Pass Review

Kuala Lumpur Day Pass

Tourist destinations around the world usually have Day Pass to service the incoming tourists.
The first time I tried this kind of day pass is in Osaka, and the service were quite notable that I make a habit of finding a day pass of the cities I plan to visit.
Kuala Lumpur have recently launched a Day Pass, since 2015 if I'm not mistaken.
I had quite a nice time so I'm excited to share my experience with you readers, so you can decide weather it's right for you or not.

KL Pass Colection - KL City Gallery

KL Pass is a new service, so expect some changes being implemented from time to time. For the latest information, visit this link : http://www.klpass.com/
When I first ordered KL Pass, there's an option to have the cards mailed to your address overseas, but upon visiting their website a few months later, it wasn't available, so do check those website for the latest offering and terms.

KL City Gallery

For collecting in the KL Pass upon your arrival at KL, you can head to KL City Gallery. This is a suitable option for backpackers wanting to save on their budget, since the cost of shipping to Indonesia costs more than Rp 100.000

KL City Gallery
Once you got your KL Pass, you can use it to go inside this KL City Gallery to view their diorama.
Admission fee is about MYR 5, and it will be deducted from our card's purse value.

KL City Gallery

The method of using this KL Pass is a bit different from my previous experience. You pay a certain amount for your card, and you'll get more out of that price. For example, a 3 day card costs MYR 395 with purse value of 525.
How you want to spend the credit / purse value is up to you, so you need to take deliberation on the admission fee of each attractions.

KL City Gallery Diorama

I did picked some attractions that I consider as a lemon, like the Petroscience Discovery Center. This is a personal preference though, since this place seems suitable for family with small children.
At first I thought the system is similar to Osaka Day pass, where you get coupons for every attractions, and when you didn't use it, it's a waste of the coupon value.
Here you make decision based on the admission ticket price of each tourist attraction, and taking consideration how much of your card purse value is left.
Some of the attraction have 1 time entry limit for KL pass user too, but you can gain reentry by paying regularly.

Hop On Hop Off Bus

Hop On Hop Off bus is the second attraction we tried. It's free / included in the KL Pass, no further payment is deducted from your card purse value.
This HO HO bus is actually a bit redundant at the moment, since Kuala Lumpur have the free GOKL bus.

Here is the HOHO Bus KL website : http://www.myhoponhopoff.com/kl/visitor.php

Having said that GOKL also offer free transportation, this HOHO bus is still worth to ride if you got a KL pass, since it's free, and you do get a better ride, directly to the tourist attraction with less stops.
The open top is also a great feature for those wanting to take photos, or just lounging around, enjoying KL's open air.
