Yungho Porridge

There's two place famous for it's porridge in Surabaya, one is Happy Garden (http://www.foodgrapher.com/2013/04/happy-garden-resto-cina-bubur_30.html) and the other is Yungho.
They both have their first restaurant opened in Andika Plasa building about 20 years ago. With the passing of time, Yungho decided to close their first shop there, while Happy Garden stick around and expand their restaurant.

Both have a distinct way to serve their dishes, which seems to be influenced by Tio Chiu / Teochew cuisine to serve it dishes. There's a buffet of ready made dish, which the customer can choose to their liking.

Yungho - Keong Macan

Compared to Happy Garden, their dish tastes a tad bland, probably suiting to Teochow cuisine which is usually not so spicy. For me and probably a sum of Surabaya people, we enjoy spicy and bold taste, which is usually present in Cantonese Cuisine, the most popular kind of Chinese cooking here.
