Alun-Alun Selatan Yogyakarta

Alun-Alun Kidul Keraton Jogja

Alun-alun Kidul is a favorite hangout for locals in Yogyakarta, it's open during night time. There's plenty of street food to be sampled and fun games around.

There's some street food vendor, selling Satay, Bakso, Grilled Banana and Ronde like this stall that we visited.
Plenty of stall also sells instant noodle too, but if you've put up an effort to go out and have fun, best to try other food and leave the instant noodle for those dire hunger pang on the wee hours.

Since we've had dinner, we opted for some snack and desserts. We tried the Ronde, Angsle, Grilled Corn on the cob and Grilled Banana.

This stall was run by a couple. The husband serves up the dessert of Angsle and Ronde while the lady here grilled our order of banana and corn.

The Famous Banyan Tree

In this court yard, there's two huge banyan tree which is the landmark of the area. Visitor can try the challange of crossing this huge tree blind-folded, whilst trying to stay on course to get pass the trees and between them.

The legend said that whoever can pass this two trees, will have their wishes granted. That night there's plenty of people trying it, but only a very few managed to complete it.
