Kopitiam adalah kedai kopi tradisional yang banyak ditemui di Asia Tenggara, yang menyediakan makanan beserta minum. Kata Kopi merujuk pada minuman kopi sedangkan Tiam adalah kata dalam dailek Hokyan / Hakka yang berarti toko (店). Menunya biasanya terdiri dari hidangan sederhana seperti masakan telur, roti panggang dengan selai kaya, kopi, teh, milo dan minuman coklat malt yang populer di Asia Tenggara, terutama Singapura, Malaysia dan kepulauan Riau.


A kopitiam or kopi tiam is a traditional coffee shop found in Southeast Asia, patronised for meals and beverages. The word kopi is Malay for coffee (as borrowed and altered from English) and tiam is the Hokkien/Hakka dialect word for shop (). Menus typically feature simple offerings: a variety of foods based on egg, toast, and kaya, plus coffee, tea, and Milo, a malted chocolate drink which is extremely popular in Southeast Asia, particularly Singapore, Malaysia and Riau Islands

Bangi Kopitiam bermula dari inisiatif empat kawan untuk membawa kembali semangat Muhibbah yang kental di masa kecil mereka saat tinggal di kampung.
Pada masa indah itu tidak ada batasan antar ras, semua dibagi, dari perayaan pernikahan, festival pembukaan rumah di mana makanan menjadi bahan pemersatu.
Jadi Bangi Kopitiam ingin mencerminkan keragaman makanan Muhibbah ini dalam hidangan yang disuguhkan. Hidangan tersebut termasuk Nasi LEmak dari Melayu, Mee Udang dari Tionghoa, Cendol dari komunitas Baba dan Nyonyah.
Diharapkan keragaman warisan kulineri ini beserta kenyamanan tempat di tiap outlet akan membawa kembali kenangan akan persahabatan yang manis antar banyak ras dan orang dari seluruh lini kehidupan, untuk mencicipi hidangan di Bangi Kopitiam

Bangi Kopitiam started with the initiative of four childhood friends who want to bring back the Malaysian ‘Muhibbah’ spirit which they experienced during their growing up years back in their ‘kampong’.
During those beautiful moments, there used to be no boundaries amongst all races. Everything is shared from wedding celebrations to festival’s open house where food will be the common melting pot. Therefore, Bangi Kopitiam would like to reflect the wide variety of the ‘Muhibbah’ food in our delicacies. This includes our Nasi lemak from the Malays, Mee Udang from the Chinese and Cendol from our Baba and Nyonya community.
We hope with this heritage food offered and the cozy ambience in all our outlets will bring back the lovely memories of sweet friendship ties amongst all races when people from all walks of life come to savor our delicacies at Bangi Kopitiam



Bangi Kopitiam - Nasi Lemak


Penampilan nasi lemaknya menarik, harga tidak terlalu mahal dan porisnya lumayan dan komplit, ada ayam, kacang, teri goreng, kering tempe dan telur rebus. Nasi yang dipakai di nasi lemak bukan nasi putih biasa, tapi dimasak dengan kelapa dan rempah-rempah tambahan untuk membuat nasinya wangi dan lezat.


They're Nasi Lemak has an interesting appearance, a bowl of special rice (cooked with coconut milk and spices) are placed in the center of a plate, alongside they put on the meat and garnishes. Included in the plate are Fried anchovies (unsalted kind), fried peanuts, tempeh, chicken meat and boiled egg cut in half.

Berhubung judulnya Kopitiam, menu minuman utamanya tentu semua orang tahu kalau kopi. Sedangkan untuk menu makanan yang selalu ada, adalah toast alias roti bakar. Roti bakarnya kali ini yang saya pesan adalah roti bakar dengan selai kacang / peanut butter dan es krim vanilla. Rasanya enak, perpaduan peanut butter dan vanilla nya cukup pas dipadukan, jadi tidak cepat eneg

Since Kopitiam is derived from the word coffee, naturally the main beverage menu is Coffee. For the food, one of the item that's always available is Toast, slathered with rich peanut butter and topped with ice cream. This dessert tastes nice, with the peanut butter balancing the sweetness of the vanilla ice cream.

Singaporeans and Malaysians like to consume this food with a cup of tea or coffee, which has merited the snack's inclusion in many coffee houses. The Singaporean companies Ya Kun Kaya Toast and Killiney Kopitiam are franchises which have proliferated by this popular snack.

Saat pertama ke sini tahun 2013 lalu, harga yang ditawarkan cukup terjangkau, dan tempatnya pun asri dan nyaman. Kunjungan tahun 2014 ini kenaikan harganya cukup terasa, dan kualitas makanannya tetap biasa-biasa saja. Sebetulnya untuk harga sama, bagi yang mementingkan rasa makanan ada beberapa alternatif ok seperti Masakan Padang Bundo Sati dan Soto pak Sadi yang berjarak lima menit dari Bangi, tapi untuk urusan tempat memang keduanya masih kalah ok.


When I first went here a year ago, the price were quite competitive and the place was notably comfortable. Nowadays there's quite a steep price hike, and I've found the food & beverage isn't really on par with the price.
For those wanting to savor some interesting and delicious food, there are some better alternatives like the Bundo Sati, which offer Padang dishes (including the famous Rendang) and there's also Surabaya popular Soto, Pak Sadi, in Ambengan street.
If your priority is a place to hang out and relax, you'd be better off in Bangi.
