Kali ini saya akan mengulas tentang salah satu tempat makan seafood yang ok, Bandar Djakarta. adalah salah satu resto seafood yang relatif populer di Surabaya Barat. Konsepnya ada kemiripan dengan Sea Master yang dahulu ada di dekat bundaran Tol HR Muhamad

Today we're gonna take a look at a seafood eatery that's quite popular. It's located in the western part of Surabaya city, and supposedly a franchise from Jakarta. This place have plenty of similarities with Sea Master, a well known seafood restaurant back in it's days.

Satu hal yang mirip dengan Sea Master adalah adanya tempat memilih dan menimbang seafood yang ingin dipesan di bagian depan restonya.

Saya sudah tidak ingat pastinya di Sea Master bagaimana, tapi kesannya sedikit lebih terang dan rapi saja, kalau kebersihan rasanya sama bagusnya.

One prominent feature that reminds me of Sea Master restaurant is the live seafood market, where you can pick and weigh the critter, and have it cooked to your liking.
From what I remember, the cleanliness is on par with the old sea master, but I kinda like the way Sea master was a bit tidier and brightly lit.

Saya jarang berkunjung ke tempat yang menjual fresh seafood seperti ini sebetulnya. Alasannya karena saya pernah diet vegetarian, dan kadang kala melaksanakan ruwatan / fangshen dengan melepas hewan yang dikurung. Jadinya agak geli kalau harus memilih makan di tempat seperti ini.

The reason why I rarely visits (and post) this kind of fresh seafood restaurant is the fact that some of the dishes were... alive, just before you ordered. This is quite disturbing for me, having been a vegetarian for some time and having practiced 'animal release' or fangshen, where you get good karma for releasing animal in captivity.

Tempatnya sangat luas, dan ada beberapa spot makan yang bisa dipilih. Untuk outdoornya, ada hiburan penyanyi di panggung. Kita memilih tempat makan indoor karena ingin menikmati dinginnya AC

The eatery is quite vast, there's plenty of dining spots to choose. If you opt for outdoor dining area, there's a singing performance that'll spice up your dining experience. We decided to eat indoor, for the air conditioning.

Banyaknya sambal yang tersedia dan bebas diambil tanpa biaya tambahan ini mengingatkan saya akan Warung SS di Jogjakarta. Kalau di Surabaya, sambal warung SS nya tidak seperti ini penyajiannya, tapi model pesanan per porsi (http://www.foodgrapher.com/2013/12/sego-sambal-ss.html)

Surabaya people likes their food spicy, so it's a great thing that Bandar Djakarta serves complimentary sambal like this.

Reminds me of Waroeng SS in Jogjakarta, where they serves complimentary chilli sauce / sambal like this, too bad their branch in Surabaya doesn't do the same (http://www.foodgrapher.com/2013/12/sego-sambal-ss.html)

Rasa masakannya di sini cukup standard, tidak ada yang sampai istimewa tapi semuanya juga bisa dinikmati. Menurut saya ada mirip-mirip rasanya dengan Artomoro tapi bahannya tentunya lebih berkualitas.

The food here taste ok, there's nothing really special about it, but it's also quite tasty.
I reckon there's the same cooking style with this popular street food stall, Artomoro Seafood, which is also adjacent to this place. Though of course Bandar Djakarta serves a higher quality ingredients.
