Bakmi Anglo [Solo]

Noodles Cooked with Traditional Brazier

Bakmi Anglo Solo

One of the famous dish in Solo is Tengkleng, which is a kind of Mutton soup dish. We were new to the town, and had to rely on google maps & garmin gps to navigate the city. This made for a funny story how we switched from wanting Tengkleng to eating Noodles

Tengkleng

Sop Kaki Kambing - Sudi Mampir

Along the way we found a nice food stall that sells Satay and Mutton Soup, we figured this place might have something similar to Tengkleng. It's located in Kadipolo market, and there's two stall in the area.

Pasar Kadipolo

We chosed the stall on the right, since it looked brighter and interesting, packed with people dining. I was accompanied by a notary friend and his mother, she's a hijab wearing lady which indicates she's a devout Moslem. That will explains why people were looking at us funnily when we approached the stall.

Rica-rica Gukguk Pak Joko Kadipolo

Turns out this stall sells dog Rica dish, which sells dog meat as dish, and that's why people keep staring at us. First there's a guy saying to my friend's mom "sorry mam, there's dog here.."
She was startled thinking there's a dog on the street, lurking behind her. So the guy rephrase it "Dog meat mam, RW..."
And thus as quick as lighting, we dash out of the place, having lost their appetite, we opted for somthing much different from Tengkleng.

Bakmi Anglo

Bakmi Anglo - Lesehan

Resto Bakmi Anglo tampilan tempat makannya sangat sederhana, tapi lumayan bersih.

It's bare and simple diner, a bit too plain for me, albeit still clean. We were greeted with the outdoor kitchen which resembles a street vendor cart.

Bakmi Anglo Solo - Masak Menggunakan Anglo

Anglo / Traditinoal Javanese Brazier

The dish here are cooked in a traditional brazier, which makes the food have a smoky flavor. Each dish are made to order, they don't just cook the dish togather in a big batch, which makes the dish has a well balanced taste each time.

Bakmi Anglo - Bakmi Goreng (Rp 11.000)

Bakmi Anglo - Bakmi Godhog Nyemek (Rp 11.000)

We tried two of their noodle dish, one is a fried noodle while the other is noodle soup. They both taste just nice, no need to add condiments to enhance the taste, it's already delicious with it's subtle taste.

Bakmi Anglo - Jahe Gepuk Gula Batu (Rp 4.000)
